My friend Janet Davey wrote this beautiful short piano piece which inspired me to write some words. Majida Al-Sayegh has kindly made it into a video for us called ANOTHER WORLD IS WAITING. We would like to share it with you on this International Women’s Day. Here are the words:
‘Another World is Waiting’
The lamps are going out
it is getting dusk
but there is still time for freedom
the world has closed its doors
the long corridors darken
the flowers we sowed in spring
are passing away
but another world is possible
another world is waiting
a world of peace and harmony
a world of trust and safety
The lamps are going out
it is getting dusk
but there is still time, still time for freedom
